Weather Body

Come to me sea, salt that I adore, the grit
of my grinding teeth.  Thirst, the itch—
over and out.  Let it wash.
Return, what’syourname, night’s blip-
blip, a monitor in the surf.

When weather names itself: nor’easter, forked lightning,
I must touch ground and feel my breasts.
Dream breasts, return to me, return
now bluejets, runaway breakdown, sleepdeath,
Ah! I’ll name you now, steeped leader—
nameless, the one who takes me.
