Hobble Creek Review
Hey All!
It's about time, isn't it? Well, a lot has been going on in my life as a
teacher and also my life as a poet, so I offer you my apologies for not
getting this issue out last week. Sometimes we too wrapped up in
what we have to do, we hardly get the opportunities we'd like to do
those things we love. These past couple of weeks have been just like
that for me.
This issue again expands the horizons of what Hobble Creek Review
is all about, and I am proud of that. Back again are some familiar
faces and names, but we also have quite a few new people who have
graciously allowed us to be a part of their writing and publishing
experience. Please, as always, take the time to seek out other work
by those writers you are impressed with. So many times what we do
as writers is ignored or forgotten all too soon.
As for me, I am happy to see these new faces join with the familiar,
all of whom have given me the joy of finding poems and prose I keep
returning to over and over. For that, I want to thank all of these
writers.
I would also like to thank you, the readers. More than I could ever
hope, I have been contacted by readers to let me know we are on the
right track with our efforts. Believe me when I say I am happiest
when I am passing on some small bit of praise to the writers featured
in each issue. Each time I do, it reminds me why I love this
endeavor and keep working at it. We are on Facebook, and that has
increased the traffic to this site, but please, if you know of anyone
who might be interested in reading what you see here, pass it on and
get the word out.
I need to be up front about this next announcement. There will not
be a summer issue this year. My first full length book of poems has
been accepted for a July 2010 publication and I need to be focusing
my efforts on getting the manuscript and publicizing for its release.
Have no fear. We will be back in time for a Fall 2010 issue, and I
may just try to make it a double issue to make up for the time away.
Well, I'm off to take care of some family business. I hope you find as
much to love with this issue as you have in the past.
Sincerely,
Justin Evans, editor
