Hobble Creek Review
Garage Confessions
We sat on the green seat
pulled from David's old V.W.
A dozen cigarette butts
fought their war
on the makeshift
poker table.
We talked about the time
we took the old toboggan out
joyriding around the town.
We used the table-saw,
the one blocking the door,
to build Isabelle's first bed,
the four-poster she'd later share
with Michael White
on her last homecoming.
We couldn't help
but wonder why
we didn't get together
more often
to talk
about the good times,
the days before
we got kicked out.
